The mission of the AAPD Interfaith Initiative is to support people with disabilities and their families as they seek spiritual and religious access, and to bring the powerful and prophetic voice of the faith community to the 21st Century disability agenda.
Interfaith Initiative will urge local congregations, denominations, national faith groups, and seminaries to identify and remove barriers that prevent people with disabilities from participating in a full life of faith including worship, study, service, and leadership. As you know, these include barriers of architecture, communications, and attitude.
The mission of the AAPD Interfaith Initiative has never been more important, because many people with disabilities and their families find congregations to be unwelcoming.
